Argosy, a leading international supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will showcase the latest addition to its product range that allow for more efficient operations and a reduction in cost and complexity in the live studio production and outside broadcast environments at IBC2012. Included in the line up are the MIL26 and MIL41 stage boxes, the studio wall box, as well as a new range of Neutrik opticalCON Advanced tactical fibre assemblies and associated SMPTE and Triax cable assemblies.
Furthermore visitors to the Argosy stand at IBC2012 (no. 10.C51) will see the first showing in Amsterdam of the new BES video patch panel and RUIGE rack-mounted monitors and its rack-mount media convertors.
The new range of MIL stage boxes is available in two versions - the MIL26 is used for eight-channel audio cables while the MIL41 is used for 12 channels of audio. These can be wired as a single input in parallel or as a straight feedthrough version. Made using Neutrik XLR’s these robust but compact units are designed to withstand harsh OB environments where they are used for the breaking out from multi-channel audio cables on to single Mic cables.
The new Argosy wall box is designed specifically for the production environment. It features cable entry points at the rear and base of the wall box making it suitable for studio wall. It also has a unique angled lower section on the front panel to ease the patching of camera cables into the wall box. This provides an optimum bend radius to minimise any strain on the cables and ensures reliable signal transmission.
The Neutrik OpticalCON Advanced fibre assemblies offer an easily deployable end-to-end solution with rugged outer-jackets for harsh environments making it an ideal solution for live event broadcast applications.
IBC will see Argosy demonstrate its latest video patch panel manufactured by BES. This high performance 24-way panel is designed for uncompromised performance even with 1080p 3Gb/s signals. The 1U MUSA panel is built with high durability gold plated connectors, giving an insertion loss of less than 0.5dB and a true 75Ω nominal impedance. Each panel is tested with a 1080p signal over 50m of cable before delivery to guarantee performance to SMPTE 424M. Complementary U links and patchcords, in a range of colours for coding, are also available from Argosy.
Visitors will also see the latest 4U rack mount monitor which features individually tilting twin 16x9 7 inch screens, capable of displaying HD (1080i), analogue composite and analogue component video inputs. These monitors include dual channel audio inputs with on screen level displays and speaker or headphone confidence monitoring and allow for easy set up using the screen menus accessible from the front of each monitor.
"IBC remains the premier show in our annual exhibition calendar as it provides Argosy with an ideal platform to display our latest product introductions and network with existing clients and suppliers - while also gathering the information on new project and establishing new contacts." said Chris Smeeton, director at Argosy. "Our new stand position closer to the entrance of hall 10 will ensure the best brand visibility. It will also allow us to attract new suppliers as we look to commission new products to add to our already comprehensive range."
The Argosy display at IBC2012 will provide all the answers for systems engineers. It will include a broad sample of the company’s huge range of products, including racks and cable management as well as copper, fibre and connectors. For those considering installing some fibre connectivity, there will be advice on low-cost methods of fitting connectors to cables and the chance to try the unique award winning fibre cleaning tool which ensures reliable transmission.
