India wins 31 shortlists for Press Lions

Indian agencies have won 31 shortlists for Press Lions at the 59thCannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The Press category had attracted the maximum entries from India numbering 266.
Among the Indian shortlists, DDB Mudra Group leads with 10 shortlists followed by Leo Burnett with 8, Ogilvy with 6, BBDO with 4, Publicis with 2 and BBH with 1 nomination.
DDB Mudra Group is leading in this category with 10 shortlists in all. Its campaign on Geebees Beverages has fetched five shortlists with entries ‘Great Fire Of London, New York Blackout, Armenian Internet Shutdown’ nominated in various categories. Three shortlists are entries titled ‘Elvis, JFK, Roswell’ for Stedfast and two more for entries titled ‘Deer, Tree’ for Volkswagen.
Last year India had 19 pieces shortlisted and the number of entries submitted by Indian agencies remained almost same with 266 entries submitted as compared to 267 last year.
Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Creative Officer, Ogilvy & Mather, Global, is the Jury President for Press Lions while Raj Kamble is a jury member from India.
The winners of Press Lions will be announced on June 20, 2012.
