Google has announced that it will shut iGoogle from November 1, 2013. iGoogle was launched in 2005 as a homepage housing personalized apps and real-time information.
The company made the announcement after it realized that iGoogle has gotten worn out and added that users have up to 16 months to save or export their data.
Google also announced that it will close down the operations of Google Mini, one of its search offerings as the same service can be provided better by Google Search Appliance, Google Site Search and Google Commerce Search.
The company added that it will however continue to provide technical support to Mini customers for the duration of their contracts, and will inform customers with further details soon.
Google will also remove its Chatback service as it is now outdated and has asked users to use the Meebo bar instead. The company further added that it will also do away with its Symbian Search App to focus its efforts on its mobile web search experience.
