YouTube will be launching several French web TV channels by the end of this year.

According to a report in the French daily, Le Figaro, Google France announced that YouTube will be launching 13 free channels. The channels will cover various genres including entertainment, cooking, family, culture and health.

The report also added that YouTube has launched a call for bids among French content houses and producers. Those who have shown an interest in the bids include producers like Endemol, Kabo and Capa.
