GTPL and Post Hathway, invests Rs 2 billion to extent its coverage

Hathway Cable & Datacom and Ahmedabad-based Gujarat Telelinks Private Ltd (GTPL) a joint venture, has invested 2 billion, as it enlarges its coverage to cities within Gujarat and outside.

Hathway has 50 per cent stake in Gujarat Telelinks Private Ltd.

GTPL managing director Anirudhsinh Jadeja said that, they had invested Rs 2 billion. Their plan was to further invest around Rs 1 billion in the next fiscal if the digitisation pace gathers steam.

With the immense growth in Gujarat that it acquired in late 2007. Hathway the multi-system operator (MSO) has also extended up West Bengal, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

To enter in West Bengal GTPL has acquired 51 per cent in Kolkata Cable and Broadband Pariseva. GTPL already is a dominant player and covers 30 cities in Gujarat.
